We live in a fallen and imperfect world. As long as we are here on this earth, we will deal with pain. We are not perfect and we cannot expect others to be perfect either. It does not in any way excuse physical abuse (we must always flee) but simple disagreements and disappointments will always exist.
We have to remember to do everything unto the Lord! That means when others refuse to love us, we love back. It means when kindness is not returned, we continue to be kind. You keep being the wonderful you. God will honor your obedience.
Scripture Reading:
I John 4:19 (NIV)
We love because He first loved us.
Hosea 10:12 (NIV)
Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.
I Corinthians 13: 4-7 (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
