Day 2: Place of Waiting

Waiting…patience….something I am not good at.  But! I am praying that God will help me!  On our journey, there may be places where God requires us to wait and wait and wait! This is not a time when God is not doing anything!  God is always working in us and working things for our good.  While we may not know all the details of why we have to wait, we can rest in knowing that God is always at work.

Sometimes we may think we are waiting on God when actually, He is waiting on us.  Maybe He is waiting for us to do the last thing He told us to do (obedience).  Yikes! Maybe He is just waiting for us to ask for help! There are other times, when He really wants us to wait for Him.

The season or place of waiting can be a trying time but remember we can always ask God to give us wisdom.  We can always ask Him what He wants to do in us while we wait;  and we can always ask Him to help us have a grateful heart and a good attitude.

Scripture Reading:

Daniel 10: 10-13 (NIV)

A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”

Psalms 27:14 (NIV)

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Romans 8:28 (NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
